Foundation Stage 2 Curriculum

Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum and is organised into seven areas of learning.

These areas of development provide a foundation for, and lead into, the early stages of the National Curriculum.

There are 3 prime areas: 1. Communication and language; 2. Physical development; 3. Personal, social and emotional development.

..and 4 specific areas: 4. Literacy; 5. Mathematics; 6. Understanding the world; 7. Expressive arts and design.

The children learn phonics through our ‘Read, Write, Ink’ programme and develop their story telling and writing skills through our ‘Talk for Writing’ lessons.

The activities and opportunities we plan for your child build on their existing abilities, interests and experiences. Much of this is done through structured play activities which allows them to rehearse and practise their skills and meet individual targeted challenges.
